Mintlyn Crematorium

Scroll

Mintlyn Crematorium was opened in 1980 and occupies a seventeen acre site of gardens and glades, 3 miles from the centre of King's Lynn at Lynn Road, Bawsey, King's Lynn, Norfolk, PE32 1HB, close to the A149, King's Lynn by-pass.

The chapel, which seats approximately 100 people, is equipped with the state of the art Wesley Music System which can play via the chapels speaker system (using bespoke mp3 software) any piece of music that has at sometime been officially recorded. The chapel is on a single level giving easy access for wheelchairs and disabled toilet facilities are available. There is also an induction loop system installed to benefit those who wear a hearing aid.

The Gardens of Remembrance are a mixture of informal woodlands planted with memorial trees and shrubs where people can sit on seats dedicated to the memory of loved ones, a lawned area with memorial shrubs and trees as well as memorial kerbs, and finally a more formal area of memorial kerb plates and trees to mark the final resting place of the deceased.

There is also a Columbarium (which is where the cremated remains rest in vaults sealed with inscribed granite tablets) sited close to the main building. Parts of the grounds are managed as conservation areas thus encouraging wildlife and various wild flowers to flourish.
